【内容摘要】

The world is in power transition. Can promoting ownership of emerging powers help to improve the effectiveness of global governance and pacify the risk of wars between hegemonic powers and rising powers in power transition? Ownership can make power. Promoting ownership of rising powers is both a feasible template for current global governance to enhance effectiveness as well as a persuasive agenda for China to deepen its foreign strategies. Based on various disciplines, this article focuses on the issue of ownership in global governance and generally discusses the conceptual framework and relevant strategies of promoting ownership from both processual and structural perspectives. Subsequently, it attempts to deliberate on the latent connections between ownership agenda and China’s foreign pursuits. It finds advocating ownership not only accords with the aims of improving effectiveness of global governance but is consistent with China’s own foreign pursuits, which may redefine China’s role and reset China’s agenda in global governance arrangement.
